Deval Patrick is a runaway favorite to become the next Governor.Remember Pee Wee Dukakis the liberal, nightmare who drove business out of the state and turned the Massachusetts Miracle into an economic meltdown. He proposed giving phony social security numbers to illegal aliens so they could get right on welfare. The list goes on but this is about Deval.
Deval is far to the left of the Duke. He favors open borders, in-state tuition for illegal aliens, reparations for slavery and will pay for all this with your and your employer’s money. He is a true blue Moonbat and the darling of the Cambridge Commies.
Politics is bad enough in this state. Deval will be the icing on the cake. Plan your escape now. Pack your bag early and avoid the rush. The lines at the tollbooths will be long.

What are you afraid of that he is a black man or that he is intelligent. Do you think the Govenor of Ma is responsible for the borders of the US? Who do you see as the alternative? The Republicans have done a bang up job of it so far.
The VERY first post and someone plays the race card. That's about what we expected.
Just to even it out. I am scared of him and I don't care what color he is. He is a very intelligent man, from what I see he seems to be a good person but that does not mean he is right for the job.
Republicans really havent had the power to attempt any change in Massachusetts. Romney seemed to try to change things like his attempt to consolidate the Turnpike with the Mass Highway department but hasnt really been able to make headway. Unfortunately I think Patrick will win.
And for the first commenter, HG seems opposed to Patrick because of his politics. You are the one thinking about his race. Race shouldnt be a reason to vote for or against someone, wouldn't you agree?
Actually his comment about reparations kind of makes it sound like it is in some way about race.
I wonder if we get a democrat for govenor we might be able to get something done. Certainly I am more comfortable with his (Patrick's)background than the rarified background of Ms Healy. What I have heard so far from Patrick seems to make a lot of sense.
My comment about reparations was a statement of fact. Patrick feels reparations are justified although he admits that he can't think of a way to make it work. I hope his mind remains blank on that issue. It has nothing to do with race; there are many white moonbats that feel the same way. The touchy feely crowd is never at a loss for guilt-induced causes to foist on the innocent.
You say a democrat will “get something done”. What would you like to see done? What would be accomplished by a state government that is made up of one political party? How do the taxpayers benefit without a forum for different opinions. We sure took a beating during the Dukakis years of one party rule.

Ms. Healy grew up in a working class family, as did Mr. Patrick.
We have had a Democratic legislature forever. What have they done for you lately? What have they accomplished to make life better, more affordable, more desirable to live in Massachusetts than elsewhere? My problem with Mr. Patrick, is that his statements are "feel good" rhetoric. He has yet to propose any program to address any of the issues. He is a gifted speaker, but that does not indicate that he has any ideas to back up that rhetoric. Give us a plan, then we'll see.

He wants to cut property taxes by retoring local aid. Between 2002-2004 cities and towns have cut $14,000 police, fire and teachers while the median property tax increased 42%. I would have to say if that's what Healy/Romney accomplished my grandmother could probly do better. I think we ought to give Patrick a chance. I also don't know why you are so afraid. Patrick is going to raise income tax on EVERYONE, that is the only way he can try to get property taxes lowered. Surprise! No such thing as a free lunch. Democrats control the budget not the governor, everytime he tried to veto spending your congressmen override him. Patrick is cut from the same cloth.
Reparations??? Give me a break. My parents were born in Europe, not slave era US times. Those people are dead and gone, the Indians have a much better claim anyway. When the English start giving the Irish money for reparations then we can talk. Don't hold your breath.

Foley mess is silly for you to bring up. Most conservatives are outraged and are glad that he resigned. Take a look in the past about Gary Studds and Mel Reynolds and their involvement with underage kids. Both democrats. Studds had an affair with a 17 year old page. His Massachusetts congress. district decided thats ok and reelcted him. Reynolds had sex with a 16 year old campaign worker. One of the things Reynolds was convicted of was solicitation of child pornography. Bill Clinton later pardoned him. Now care to tell me again who handles things poorly? Foley, Studds and Reynolds all shouldve been booted or resigned. We dont need people like those three representing us in Congress...they are not worthy. One resigned, one was jailed and pardoned, and one was reelected.

Wow many years ago a man who served in the Justice Department questioned whether the accused had had a fair trial. Considering how many people have been wrongly accused and even sentenced to death and then exonerated don't you think we should perhaps, on occasion, second guess our judicial system?
